Back in the day when dad worked and prayed and mom kept the perfect home and bubbie and zayde (grandma and grandpa) were always nearby to lend a hand, Jewish Family Service organizations focused mainly on helping our community’s poor.
But times have changed – and keep changing. Our motto, Caring for You for Life, means Jewish Family Services of York is there for you and your family as you grapple with the ever-changing circumstances of life in 21st century America. And today, we serve everyone, regardless of religious affiliation.

- Staying Connected: Interfaith volunteers helping older adults live independently.

- The Parenting Place: A personalized approach to 21st century family challenges with one-on-one and small-group coaching to:
o Strengthen basic parenting skills
o Improve communication
o Foster financial values

- Project Manna: A safety net for those in need, including York’s only Kosher food pantry.
o Monthly supplemental food
o Holiday-time assistance
o Counseling on benefits
o Community education and advocacy (on hunger issues)
